General Practitioner - Julia Hagenaars
Dear Brunaars
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Julia Hagenaars and I have been co-owner of the Bruinisse general practice since January. Some of you will already know me, because I have been working in the practice since September 2020. We live on the island of Tholen with my boyfriend and daughter. Originally from Brabant, but I can settle in Zeeland well.
I came to work here and never left, because of the pleasant collaboration with Reinier van der Valk, the atmosphere on the work floor and of course the click with
the patients. I am an open and honest doctor who likes to talk to the patient, present all options and together arrive at the best care for you.
Together with Dr. van der Valk, we strive to provide the best possible GP care and pharmacy in the village and surrounding area and to maintain this. As you have probably heard in the media, this is becoming more and more of a challenge. Due to the shortage of GPs and public/internet pharmacies, we face challenges. I would like to take on these challenges with Reinier van der Valk.
So you will notice that changes will occur in practice. Some of these are already visible to you. We are in the middle of the renovation. First, our building was completely renovated and given a fresh color and look, now a wing is being added.
added. 5 rooms will be created here. As the plans now stand, we are going to create a small medical center. This includes physiotherapy (FysioFit), Buurtzorg, the compression specialist, the podiatrist and we are in discussions with many others. The starting point here is: tailor-made care and in the neighborhood.
In the context of tailor-made care, we have had a nurse specialist for several years and recently also a GP assistant consultation hour (SOH). You will no longer always go to the doctor with your complaint, but some complaints can certainly be properly assessed and treated by one of them. You can often get here more quickly. Our nurse specialist has also started mapping our vulnerable elderly, so that the best possible quality of life is strived for. The elderly must continue to live at home longer, but this must of course remain safe.
We have also improved accessibility through a new telephone system and this year we will also switch to a new ICT system, which will allow us to work more efficiently, faster and completely in accordance with up-to-date standards.
You've also noticed some changes at the pharmacy, and more are on the way. Surveys have shown that the long lines at the pharmacy counter are frustrating. We understand that, and partly because of this, a medication dispensing machine will be installed this year. You can then easily pick up your repeat prescriptions 24/7. Unfortunately, we're seeing many changes in pharmacies that are influenced by health insurance. This mainly concerns the brands of your medications. We have no control over this and must adhere to the health insurer's regulations. We are working with you on this matter, but also hope for your understanding.
