These letters & numbers will be on the Kerkplein until 11:30 am, after which they will be on the Havenplateau.

- All children also receive a strip card for a treat. The young residents of Bru who go to school elsewhere are also taken into account; they can pick up a strip card at Lena's Tabaksshop or at Koekeloere Snuffelwinkel

Do you want to participate in the world's longest mussel table? Then quickly get one of the last tickets at Marketplaza Bru, Visrestaurant BRU 17, Restaurant Storm or Restaurant De Meeuw. If the weather is bad, we will celebrate the entire party in the CCA halls on the industrial estate.

Bruinisse then and now
Our village also had to pay its toll.
Lost many a feather in the war
And many who lived here before,
Didn't recognize the old village anymore.
The big church was shot to pieces
And broken down, brick by brick.
The same goes for the many old houses,
Those years stood around it.
The nice sidewalks with the fences,
Which everyone had in front of his house,
They are gone; there are now
Sidewalks like in the big city.
And then that Saturday hustle and bustle
From sanding streets and such.
The fine smell of the harbour
And boats came from paint and tar.
It has disappeared. The village is quieter.
Not as fun as it used to be.
No more boys standing on the corners,
No girls doing the rounds.
No mountain of oil nut shells
Lying on the street, it's quite slippery:
They are too expensive, the youth enjoy them now
Much more of ice cream and fries.
There are now beautiful new houses,
There, where gardens used to be found
With lots of space and lots of sunlight;
Not so gloomy and stuffy anymore.
There are now beautiful new streets,
This is necessary for fast traffic.
But stroll quietly as before,
That is definitely no longer possible here.
Many strange people live there now
In our village, which you often see.
But you often hear questions,
Who is that? I don't know him.
The whole world has changed;
So why not Bruinisse?
Many good things have come.
It just depends on how you see it
Party in BRU - 500 years of existence -
