Voting phase for business investment zone BIZ Bruinisse started on a busy business evening

Last Wednesday evening, the kick-off meeting for the vote on the BIZ Bruinisse took place at Machinefabriek Padmos in Bruinisse. It was a very animated evening with around 60 entrepreneurs present. Two previous BIZ meetings were mainly aimed at providing information about the background of the initiative, the operation of a BIZ (Business Investment Zone) and collecting wishes from entrepreneurs. Last week's meeting was entirely focused on the start of the voting period that will last until November 14 at 12 noon. In addition to all the information about the voting procedure and the distribution of the voting information packages to the entrepreneurs present, there were various interviews, including with councillor Jacqueline van Burg and with some entrepreneurs from centres where they already have a BIZ zone, in this case Zierikzee and Burgh-Haamstede. They gave good practical examples and advised the entrepreneurs from Bruinisse to seize the opportunity to set up a BIZ with both hands. Partly due to the extra financial support from the municipality, the existing budget for entrepreneurial cooperation and investment with a BIZ can be increased by a factor of more than 7. During the evening, the Implementation Agreement between the business collective and the municipality was also signed and the first voting envelopes were presented to the host of the evening, Leon Padmos, who surprised those present with a nice presentation about the global activities of his company. On the evening itself, approximately 30% of all eligible businesses, nearly 160, had already cast their votes. Those businesses who were absent will soon receive their voting kits via special BIZ ambassadors. The municipality will announce the results of the vote on November 16th.
