Interview Saskia Maaskant: In a while there will be Saskia 2.0

Saskia Maaskant was born in 1981 in the clay of Zeeland. In 2010, she entered the Zoute Zoen manuscript competition. It was a resounding success: her debut novel, De Verteller van Beorga, was published in 2011. In the following years, the books Kieuw and Dromer were published. Both books were nominated for various awards in the Netherlands and Flanders. Kieuw won the Accolade for Best Children's Book at the Zeeland Book Prize (2014). Dromer won the Kleine Cervantes (2018). Maaskant's fourth and first historical novel, Meerminnen verdronen niet (Mermaids Don't Drown), was nominated for the Archeon Thea Beckman Prize 2021.
