BRUzzz Late Summer Festival
Havenplateau Bruinisse
Zeeland regional market
On the festival grounds, there are numerous stands featuring a mix of local businesses offering their products and Zeeland delicacies. From the tastiest fish dishes to shellfish, everything is fresh and local. Enjoy boiled mussels, shucked oysters, smoked eel and salmon, and of course, matching bubbles and wines. It is the perfect opportunity to discover new flavors, but above all, to taste, experience, and enjoy everything Zeeland has to offer.
Live music
In the afternoon, various bands will create a delightful late-summer atmosphere. We will announce the program via our social media. In the early evening, Too Many Carpets will perform: five friends with a shared passion for rock and blues. They will take you through decades of covers with organic rhythms, shimmering organs, and woolly guitar sounds. Afterwards, the party continues with an energetic DJ set featuring live drums, followed by our own Bruse DJs who will ensure a धमाकेदार (explosive) end to the evening.
We are raising money for Zeeuwse Wens Ambulance today.
Mussel shucking competition and live music
For avid mussel lovers, there is the annual mussel-hopping competition. The winner of the Zierikzee Harbour Days will be present to defend his title. Additionally, the current holder of the challenge cup, who won at our festival last year and hails from Philippine, is also returning to defend his title. This exciting competition is being organized at the festival for the fourth time. Who will go home with the challenge cup this year?
Live cooking
During the event, there will also be Live Cooking sessions, where two chefs from Bruse will give various cooking workshops. Just like last year, we are going all out with a spectacular show: preparing mussels over an open fire. The sessions will be offered throughout the day, after which the dishes can be tasted. The menus are still a surprise; as soon as they are known, you will see them on our social media.
Art & Culture Square
In addition to the culinary delights, the festival also offers an arts & culture square, which has been expanded this year. Visitors can see local artists at work, inspired by the themes of water, shellfish, and Zeeland.
