Sixty-year-old Grevelingendam demands special attention

On April 1, 2025, the Grevelingendam will be sixty years old. Not only a hydraulic engineering feat, but also the first access to Schouwen-Duiveland. There are plans not to let that pass by unnoticed. It was Wout van den Berg, chairman of the Brusea Museum in Bruinisse, who saw about a thousand negatives of the construction, taken by Marius Luteijn. "I immediately thought, we have to do something with that. But Brusea is too small to handle it," says Van den Berg. So he called Siemco Louwerse of the Flood Museum in Ouwerkerk. The planning began.
