Nostalgia is a strange feeling. It evokes a longing for times gone by and is therefore also close to sadness, but there are still good memories attached to it and it makes you warm. The word 'nostalgia' comes from Greek and contains the words for both 'return' and 'pain'. A bit like homesickness and melancholy, in which the word 'woe' refers to pain.
